When you want to buy a new product,

it is logical to ask someone you trust what they know about the product. For the article writer, one way to get noticed and create traffic is to write product reviews for your products and others.

One key to successful affiliate marketing is to promote your products.

As an affiliate, your job is to promote products that you believe in for someone else. You may have links on your site to these affiliate products but no one is going to click without further information about the products  .

As a writer, you are a valuable part of this process.

Product reviews are well read on the Internet. It is faster than phoning a friend sometimes and you can get opinions from several different people about their likes and dislikes.

If you want to make money with your blog, this is one way to do it.

A snippet about this product or that won’t cut it. You need a structured article that answers all of the questions buyers like you might have. Here are a few pointers for writing eye-catching product reviews.

1. Mention the product in the title.

Some people think of titles like, “The Last Mop you’ll ever need.” That’s great, but without pointing specifically to a brand of mop, this article will be passed over for one that does.

Instead you can say,

“Swiffer WetJet: The Last Mop you’ll ever need.” That mentions the product up front and a little extra to bait the hook.

2. Capture their attention in the first paragraph.

What can you say about the Swiffer WetJet? Hit the high points in the first paragraph so your readers will know what will be discussed further down in the article.

Mention the product again and what it has done for you.

3. List the pros and cons of the product.

Readers can spot a sham product review in a minute. If it is just a glorified testimonial with no substance, you will lose readers for future product reviews.

Be honest about the product.

Some people may not consider the cons as important as the pros but they have the right to decide for themselves without you hedging your bets.

4. List tips for improved use of the product.

Maybe you know that the Swiffer WetJet works best if the Swiffer Sweeper is used first to get up as much dirt and grime off the floor. Let readers know that.

You could sell them on another product.

The point here is that tips like this let the reader know that you have actually used the product and are familiar with it. A little snippet doesn’t show any of that.

Product reviews can make you money through affiliate programs or promoting your own products. For a dynamite review,

include the information mentioned in the four pointers above.

Top 10 Affiliate Website

Mistakes an Affiliate

Manager Sees

With over 12,000 affiliates to manage in 5 separate merchants programs,

I review countless affiliate applications and their corresponding websites. It isn’t a pretty picture. And that’s part of the problem.

So I thought it appropriate to share the 10 most common mistakes I see affiliates make over and over each and every day.

1. The affiliate’s website is poorly designed.

A lot of times it’s just plain ugly. Ugly I can stand if it has a purpose. I started my Internet career doing web design and programming. I understand good website design, both for function and look.

The affiliate site has to have at least one or the other to be effective, having both is the best. Without one or both of these factors,

what are the chances for a visitor to be referred to my merchant’s site?

2. The affiliate site has no affinity to the merchant site.

If you have a website without anything in common with the merchant, how do you expect to sell the merchant’s products to your visitor?

If your site is all about computer equipment, why are you signing up for my wigs site? Why are you wasting both of our times?

3. The affiliate site has no voice or character.

How will a visitor find value on the affiliate’s site long enough to have reason or need to click through on my merchant’s text or banner link? None I would say.

4. The affiliate site has too many banners or text ads.

How will the visitor differentiate my offer from the competition? If the site is messy and busy, I may get lots of impressions,

but click throughs will be low and probably conversions too. Don’t junk up your site with too many ads that don’t have purpose.

Laura Geller

5. Affiliate sites with expired coupons.

Seeing a site like this implies it’s a “weekender’s” site a part-time affair. Many affiliates started out this way,

but today it is highly unlikely that such a site will generate any traffic or sales for my merchants.

6. Affiliate sites with broken banners.

It still happens, merchants change their creatives, affiliates don’t keep up and there is an ugly red “x” where a banner should be. Don’t let this happen to you.

7. The affiliate site has no privacy policy.

This is a red light for visitors. This means the site is just trying to make a buck and has no interest in visitors for any other reason than getting them to make them money.

A sophisticated consumer, as most are getting as Internet experience increases, wants a sophisticated site to convert through

Not having even a simple privacy policy is a giveaway as to the lack of sophistication of the site owner.

8. NO ABILITY TO CONTACT THE WEBSITE OWNER.

If you will not disclose who you are, provide an email link or a site form,

it is unlikely a visitor to your site will get warm and fuzzy about his site visiting experience and will not covert as a result.

9. NO CONTACT INFORMATION AVAILABLE FOR THE AFFILIATE MANAGER.

In olden days affiliates didn’t want to be bothered by affiliate managers. Now with the tools and special offers merchants can offer through producing affiliates,

it is essential for good communications between the affiliate manager and the affiliate. It means more money for both.

10. Affiliate website owner not participating in the industry forums.

More and more as I talk with affiliates, we discuss forum postings, industry news and blogs. The top producers know what is going on in the industry.

They are creating the news and are creating financial opportunities at the same time.

4 Tips To Increase Your Blog Readership Fast!

4 Tips To Increase Your Blog Readers

Aside from being a fun hobby, what is the point of having a blog? The answer is to draw readers. Whether you are selling advertising, a product, or just your own set of ideas, you want as large a readership as possible with most blogs.

So if that is the case, then it is important to know how to draw readers to your blog.

There are a number of ways to increase the readership of your blog. Here are four tips that will help you to increase your blog readership that are easy to do and will definitely pay off for you.

First of all, to increase readership you would want to increase the number of pages each reader is seeing. You don’t want to be judged only on your last post, but rather on the whole of your work. To that end,

===========================

Earn 40% commissions from any referral upgrades! You will also
earn free display ad impressions down 5 levels from any publishers!

====================

try highlighting related posts within your blog.

At the end of an article, highlight posts that may be of interest to those who like the current post. Most blog platforms are fitted with plug-ins that will help you with this, but if they are not, then go ahead and at least list the links to other pages manually.

Another similar idea is to highlight the related posts within the content of your post. If you are talking about a subject you have discussed before, link off of one of the keywords into the past post that is related.

This will also help a past post to maintain its freshness.

A second tip for increasing your blog readership is to think about doing a series. A series is a great way to keep a reader coming back again and again. In addition, if you are linking back, you can get readers looking at multiple posts even after you are done with the series.

Be careful when doing a series, because you do not want to frustrate readers.

However, if you have a topic you genuinely think you should handle over a period of time, then a series can really help your overall readership. If you are curious as to whether or not a series is working for your blog, then check posts. See if readers are posting through the series to see if they are following you. If they are,

then your series is a success and you are only helping your blog readership.

Another way to increase readership is a little more “controversial” if you will. You can try putting excerpts on the front page of your blog from certain posts. Many people claim it is just a way to get more hits on your site. The truth is that extra hits are a little side benefit of it,

but the real value is that it can make your site more engaging.

By adding excerpts to the front page you can manage the front and keep it fresh while also teasing those who get that far into reading more than just your most recent blog post. This will encourage a prospective reader to explore your blog site a little more than they may have normally.

Again, you want to be judged by the whole of your work,

or at least by a larger piece of your work than just one post and this will do that. If your writing is up to par, then, you will see a rise in your readership.

Finally, if you really want to build and increase readership,

you have to have good quality content. It should be useful, original, and interesting to your target audience as well as keeping them wanting more of the same.

Laura Geller

The more you raise the quality of your blog’s content,

The more you will see your membership, readership, and page hits go up without even having to use any other “tricks.” People know what they like and they like quality for the most part. Giving the readers what they are after is probably the best way possible to increase your blog readership.

Having a blog can not only be fun,

but if you are doing it right it can also be profitable. Either way, though, you want to maintain and increase a following, or readership. There are as many tips out there to increase blog readership as there are blogs, but to really get things going,

consider using these four tips. Follow them and you will see your readership grow.

Email Marketing and Blogging

The Difference Between Email Marketing and Blog

Blog and email marketing are two totally different things. They are two complete different ways to market something, whether it is a product,

or a service. You are going to find that just because someone may use email marketing to make an income,

Does not mean that they always use blog marketing as well.

Blog marketing is when you use a blog to promote a service or a product. You can market the product or service so that it appeals to others, and is something that they might want or need.

By using a blog you can get the word out about the product that you are using and let others know all about it. There are several ways to do this. It can be done as simple or as complicated as you want. For example,

you can market your blog by exchanging links

with other blogs that are relevant to yours. You can also leave comments on other blogs that will in return get you more visitors and readers to your own blog. Don’t forget to update your blog as often as possible as well.

As that will make a huge impact on your blog.

Email marketing is when someone uses an email to get the word out about a product or s service.

You simply would have your visitors to sign up for newsletters, and then send an email out to all of them that did so.

However you will also find that email marketing

is great for many other things than just getting the word out. You can put affiliate links in your newsletters and hope that your readers will sign up under you and you will get a commission for those things.

Marketing in every way is pretty much the same. You have to know who your audience is and who wants what you are selling. Once you know this, the rest of it is cake.

Whether you are email marketing, affiliate marketing, or email marketing.

Even if you are into marketing offline, the same will apply. You will need to know who wants what you have to sell and you should have no problems selling it.

Blog and email marketing are alike in many ways,

but yet also very different. When you are using a blog for marketing, you are going to see that you have to post what you are selling on the blog.

But for email marketing, you can use an email to those interested parties.

When you use a website to have people opt in to your newsletter for email marketing, you know that you are not sending spam, but something that they requested from your site.

This is something that they asked

to be sent when they sign up for a newsletter. Where as if you are marketing a blog, you would do this much the same way as you would a website,

Therefore get visitors to come to you.

Whichever you prefer, whether it is blog marketing or email marketing you can still get the results that you want and that you are looking for.

Just know that it takes time and persistence to achieve what you want, and get it from marketing online.

Patience is key to getting your blog out there to everyone that is interested in it.

AdSense For Bloggers

Anyone can profit without even having a product!

Blogging has opened up an entirely new way of how non-technical people interact with the Internet, and now, anyone can publish anything about any topic – without having a website

Because you have joined the blogging revolution that is sweeping the net, and you think you might want to make a little revenue – or a lot of revenue – from your blogging efforts, you need AdSense tips for bloggers.

Blogging has opened up an entirely new way of how non-technical people interact with the Internet, and now,

anyone can publish anything about any topic – without having a website – and anyone can profit without even having a product!

Adsense for blogs make perfect sense. Google’s advertising programs are designed to work with sites related to the keywords for the ads that are being presented. Each time you add content to your blogs

Google spiders gobble it up.

The more you update, the more the Google spider visits your page. Ultimately, you move up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) for the topics that you write about.

You see where this is going. The higher your search ranking, the more traffic you receive,

which ultimately leads to higher revenue from AdSense ads.

Also beauty of blogs is their potential for rapid growth. If you become known as an expert in your area of expertise,

word of mouth spreads quickly and your blog can become very popular. So it is vital that you always teach something with every blog entry.

You want your readers to come back frequently and they will if they know they will learn something. Not only will your readers bookmark your blog and return often,

but they will link to your blog enthusiastically as well.

People in forums will refer to your blogs and discuss what they learned. Websites will link to you as a valuable resource. In short, an informative  blog can grow very quickly if the information it provides is valuable.

First of all important to write about specific topics, and sprinkle your blog entries with specific keywords to get the best results – and the highest revenue – with your Google AdSense ads. There is a method to the madness.

Start your revenue generating blog by testing the waters.

Decide what area you would like to write about and then do some keyword research. Research is easy if you use Google’s keyword tools found at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox .

The keyword tools are located in your Google AdWords account.

Second you need a free AdWords account to be successful but you don’t have to fund it to use the keyword tools. Look for keywords related to your subject that are high paying. These are keywords where the bid amounts are high. Make a list of the top paying keywords,

use that list to determine what topics you will write about.

Remember, you want people to visit your blog time and time again, and build up a readership, make sure that your blog is well written and informative. Don’t just target keywords for the sake of targeting keywords – the writing needs to make sense! Writing valuable content is the first step to generating traffic to your blog,

traffic is needed to profit from AdSense ads!

Third  youu are allowed to use the AdSense ad units in two different places on each page. You can accomplish this in a couple of different ways. First, you can add the AdSense ad code to the template for your blog. This is done through the control panel for your blog,

some knowledge of HTML is needed. The other option is to paste the AdSense code directly in your blog post each time you submit a new post. You can use it once at the top and once at the bottom, or once after a few paragraphs of the post,

again after a few more paragraphs.

Get that code in there however you see fit – but then pay close attention to the results so you can see what is working and what isn’t. Tracking is everything if you want to make real money!

Of course, you need to advertise your blog as much as possible as well. Make sure that you provide Trackbacks to other people’s blogs as often as possible, and that you visit blogs, leave comments –

leave a link for your blog as well!

Blogging 101

Blogging 101 is mostly about the blogging vocabulary. To understand blogs, you need to know the terms blog, platform, domain, and web host. Once you have mastered these key elements of blogging, you can enter any conversation about blogging with confidence.

After you know what exactly a blog is, you will be on your way to passing the final exam of blogging 101.

Blog is short for weblog, which simply means a series of online posts presented in reverse chronological order. That’s all! Most blogs are text,  but there are also photo blogs and video blogs. The rest of blogging 101 has to do with the technical side of things.

If you are setting up a blog, you will need a platform, a web host, and a domain.

blogging platform is a computer software program that allows you to write posts and to update your blog. Your platform is also what you use to design the look of your blog, from color scheme to font size.

The web host is sort of like the virtual file cabinet where your blog is stored. Your computer communicates with the host when you upload or edit a post. The domain is the online address of your blog, and usually ends in ‘dot com’.

Now that you know what a blog is, what a platform is, and what domains and hosts are, congratulate yourself!  You have passed blogging 101.
